2023 National Jr. NAD Conference

Motions

The Jr. NAD General Assembly is where delegates from all active chapters come together to represent their chapters and bring forth motions. During this assembly, the top 5 proposals are selected, which the chosen Jr. NAD delegates will present at the 2024 NAD Conference. These delegates will represent Jr. NAD at the Council of Representatives during the conference.

Motion #1

I, Sarah, moved that each facility must have an emergency response light for shooting. 

Motion #5

We, Jami and Lelan, moved that Jr. NAD provide scholarships or grants for small deaf schools to attend the deaf-related conferences.

Motion #2 –

We, James and Keene, moved that all first responders and public servicers are required to take basic ASL training in their programs.

Motion #6

I, Elijah, moved that we provide the ASL-support for preparations prior to taking or during the ACT or SAT testings. 

Motion #9

We, Lev and Jami, moved that we require all referees have basic Deaf Culture trainings.

Motion #3

We, Jami and Keene, moved that Jr. NAD create one-stop website where it has all school-related information in American Sign Language. 

Motion #7

I, Cali, moved that all facilities should have an permanent interpreting staff. 

Motion #10

We, Lev and Jami, moved that we require all transportation services have visual announcements and accommodations for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals. 

Motion #4

I, Keene, moved that we require all drive-thru locations have touchscreen kiosk. 

Motion #8

I, Spencer, moved that we set the 27%-35% layout between ASL interpreter and a federal officer on the media  screen.
