Accepted Campers

Congratulations, you are one step ahead to attend the NAD Youth Leadership Camp (YLC) this summer!  Please read below for all the required forms and information we need from you. Please do not pay or fill out the forms until you receive an acceptance letter.

Fees

The total fee for the 2024 NAD YLC session, not including airfare, is $3,750. This includes the following:

• Daily activities and lessons
• Field trip and laundromat expenses
• Ground transportation (i.e., to/from airport, bus, or train station; field trips; weekly laundromat visits)
• Lodging and meals during the camp session (including canteen snacks)
• One (1) NAD YLC T-shirt,
• One (1) NAD YLC Sweater, and
• One (1) NAD YLC group photograph

Travel

ARRIVAL (June 27, 2024)

All campers are expected to arrive Portland International Airport (PDX) on Thursday, June 27 between 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM PST OR meet at Camp Taloali by 5 pm, if driving by car.

Our staff members will wear YLC t-shirts and greet campers at PDX between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. There will be two buses to transport campers from PDX to Camp Taloali, at 12:30 PM and 3:30 PM.

DEPARTURE (July 22, 2024)

All campers will depart Camp Taloali at approx 1:00 AM, arriving PDX at approx 2:30 AM (yes, trubiz in the early AM). We encourage all campers to depart between 5:00 AM – 9:00 AM. Our staff members will assist all campers get their flight ticket. You may pick up your child at Camp Taloali, anytime before 9:00 AM.

YLC Tuition

You have two options: (1) pay in full for the remaining amount of $3,750 or (2) pay in four installments as seen below:

JUNE 27 – JULY 22, 2024
March 5: $100 deposit to confirm your spot
APRIL 5: $1,350
MAY 5: $1,350
JUNE 5: $950

Tuition Support 

We encourage you to reach out to your Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) office and local organizations to support your tuition fees. To receive a letter from the NAD to verify your acceptance in the YLC program to use for your fundraising support, please download this letter or contact the NAD Director of Youth Programs, Claudia Giordano. The Frank R. Turk Scholarship is also available to help with your tuition, the deadline to apply for the scholarship is March 15, 2024.
